Massive Honda Civic Si Burnout!

Paul Nix - Master Tech at Wilsonville Honda and Burnout King!

After spending most of my adult life employed as a professional racing driver or working for ABC and ESPN as a color commentator, you would think I've seen some pretty spectacular burnouts…. and I have! However, I was greatly impressed when my most-senior Master Technician Paul Nix  mentioned that he was getting ready to put some new tires on his highly modified 2006 Honda Civic Si. He asked if he might do a burnout at the dealership, to which I said, "Paul, you know we have neighbors!" Paul left for his lunch hour, and when he returned he said that I should check out a video clip he was going to post on YouTube.

Well, here it is! Awesome! I don't know where it occurred, only that I'm glad I didn't know about it. Paul's one of the only "Hall of Fame" technicians in the greater Portland Metro area. He's pretty darn switched on about Hondas and especially modified Hondas (and he had enough forethought to point his Civic Si into the wind during the burnout!). Paul's Si has among other changes, a Comptech supercharger. He's changed the pulley several times maximizing boost and so far he hasn't grenaded the motor. Hondas are amazing! I have a 2006 S2000 that has everything Comptech-made bolted to it. I'll share the details in an upcoming post. You may know that Comptech had a name change, and is now CT Engineering. I have a special place in my heart for Comptech since I won 5 professional road racing titles while driving for them -- in sedans and sports cars. I do know that at Wilsonville Honda, there are a lot of motor heads working here besides me. We all love Hondas, and we especially love fast Hondas!
